Borno State Government has commenced the construction of a modern Mechanic Village in Maiduguri. The 16 hectares village is designed to be a one-stop shop when completed as it to house all units of the trade inter-alia Panel Beater, Wheel Balancing & Alignment, Vulcanizing, Keke-Napep & Generator, Engine Mechanic, Electrician, Upholstery, shopping complex, toilets, and a Mosque.
This was disclosed by the Executive Secretary of Borno Geographic Information Service (BOGIS) Engr Adam Bababe during an inspection visit to the site. The ES said the proposed Mechanic Village is in-line with His Excellency Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum mni, FNSE 10 point transformation agenda for modern and inclusive development project and the Urban renewal drive of the Agency.
Government chose the suitable location along Molai-Damboa road in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders and automobile associations with the aim of turning the district into one of the State’s economic zone while further providing a space for the young minds to solve the worlds toughest challenges of unemployment within conducive and hygienic environments.
